FFA Nation, a new online community for members of the National FFA Organization, launched in October 2008. The organization’s 500,000 members are ages 12 to 21, and each member receives the bimonthly magazine, FFA New Horizons, also published by JCI. Through online research and surveys, FFA officials realized that the members are online and embrace social media tools, but needed an FFA-specific place to interact with other members from across the country.
FFA Nation users discuss their FFA projects, seek answers and advice from fellow members, and gain advice on careers. The site’s initial features include member profiles with FFA-specific categories and information, user-generated polls, groups, events, photo galleries, forums and monthly giveaways. More features will be released throughout 2009, based on user feedback and industry research.
